About the "Mercaden Dorsten" project

We can also do things differently: we are not only strong in store design, we also create ambience on the way there. Our aim was to illuminate the aisles of the Mercaden shopping center in Dorsten in a homogeneous way, based on the recurring architectural geometries of the building. In coordination with the drywall construction, we produced the lighting concept exactly according to the ceiling plan.

Installation from a single source

This unique concept was realized with a profile over 400 m long, specially made for the GK ceiling. Specially designed click fixings, no visible joints and over 60 individually manufactured one-piece cross pieces at different angles give the installation a uniform appearance. Thanks to the extremely flat profiles, which also serve as inspection access so that no further inspection flaps were required in the surface, the installation is self-effacing.

LED circuit boards specially designed for this application,
highly transparent glass and a special translucent coating with one-sided edge feed – all this ensures a homogeneous light image. The entire lighting system meets the high fire protection requirements, is DALI controllable and is controlled at certain intensities depending on the amount of daylight and time of day.
